2021: The Year in Photos

2021. What. A. Year. I can’t believe that it’s over and we are already a day in to 2022! This past year has had its share of ups and downs; despite its challenges I’m reminded of all of the fun I had with my camera! So, I decided to create a grid of 12 photos that highlight the year for me. And because I can’t just leave it at 1 grid, I made one for both me personally, as well as my client work.

Personal Photos

Another year of growth in my craft and some pretty significant moments for our family.

  • Covid-19 continued to be a challenge for the world and with it came a lot of debate about vaccines, quarantines, etc. No matter what side of the fence you fall, you can’t deny its historical value, and so I chose to document our personal choices as a family as we navigated all of the decisions we faced while in the midst of a pandemic.

  • Publications, Awards & Recognition: I finally got around to framing my very first published photo from a 2020 issue of Click Magazine. Also not pictured, an additional publication in the magazine in 2021, as well as publication in This Detailed Life magazine!! I was also honored as a finalist in the worldwide Voice Collection 2021 for a self portrait I created with my drone and received first place in the NAPCP Inspired competition for an image I took of my daughter with a sea lion. Lastly, after just a year as a Click Pro Master, I was honored to be named a Click Pro Ambassador - an exclusive group of Click Pros dedicated to advancing the mission of Click Pro and its sister brands.

  • Pushing boundaries: I took several classes including an online, instructor led 4-week workshop that helped me to let go of my perfectionist tendencies, as well as several self paced study guides. I also took on a few personal projects, including one in June with 30 days of drone photography.

  • Family time: we enjoyed time together as a family raising swallowtail butterflies and several trips to Door County, Wisconsin, a place that definitely stole our hearts. We hope to continue to go back and see it in all the seasons! So far, we have summer and fall checked off on our list!

Family & Senior Photography

It was another amazing year of shooting special moments for both families and senior. From baby’s first year, to milestone anniversaries, I still have to pinch myself sometimes that I get to be a small part of capturing such important parts of my client’s lives.
